The seat mat connector and the seat belt buckle connector are located under the passenger seat in the yellow wiring harness. On the front side of the wiring harness there is one, big yellow connector with a few wires (please check the Photo 1). On the back side of the wiring harness there are four connectors. These are the connectors you are interested in.

RIGHT: the seat belt buckle (marked as 1) and the AKSE seat mat with 3 wires in colors: black, brown, blue (marked as 2)
Both seat mats are the same and require the same emulator. Mercedes just changed the colors of the wires around 2009/2010.

Check our installation video for AKSE seat mat emulators.

Mercedes-Benz Vaneo W414 (2002-2005)

Locate the red seat mat connector with yellow cable under the passenger seat. The seat mat connector had 2 different shapes, but both of them had the yellow cable with 3 wires inside (red, white, brown). Cut off the wires from the connector.

Photo 1. Seat mat connector. Cut off the wires from the connector.

Photo 2. The wires cut off from the connector.

Photo 3. Use quick connectors to connect emulator's red wire with car's red wire, white wire with car's white wire, and brown wire with car's brown wire.
Here's the example of the red wires connected with each other.

Location of the connectors for following cars:

• Mercedes-Benz A-Class W169 (2004-2012)
• Mercedes-Benz B-Class W245 (2005-2011)

The seat mat connector and the seat belt buckle connector are located under the passenger seat. The seat mat connector can have three wires in colors brown, red, white or black, brown, blue (please check the Photo 1) or it can have two black wires (please check the Photo 2). You need to disconnect the seat mat connector and connect the seat mat emulator's connector.

Photo 1. Seat mat connector with 3 wires (marked with a green circle). Disconnect it and connect the emulator with 3 wires in colors: brown, red, white.

Photo 2. Seat mat connector with 2 black wires (marked with a green circle). Disconnect it and connect the emulator with 2 black wires.

Now you can connect the seat belt buckle emulator (two wires in blue and yellow colors) if your car is equipped with the unfasten seat belt buckle warning. You need to take a look under the seat belt buckle and follow the black cable that goes from the seat belt buckle to the yellow connector with blue and yellow wires (Photo 3) or red connector with brown and grey wires (Photo 6).

Photo 3. Seat belt buckle and the connector you need to find (marked with a green circle).

Disconnect the connector. If your seat belt buckle emulator is equipped with the connector then you can connect it instead of the original seat belt buckle connector. If the emulator does not have the connector then you need to take out the wires from the original connector and insert emulator's wires into the original connector. To replace the wires you need a screwdriver or a small knife. Put the connector on the side and lift up a small plastic part marked with a green arrow on the Photo 4.

Photo 4. Little plastic element that holds wires in the connector. You need to lift it.

Now you need to gently push in a litte metal part from the Photo 5 and take out the wire from the connector. Insert emulator's wire in the same color as the original wire into the connector. Once you exchange both wires you can connect the connector to your car in the place where it was previously connected.

Photo 5. Gently push in this little metal part and take out the blue wire. Insert emulator's blue wire. Do the same procedure with the yellow wire and connect the connector to your car.

Photo 6. The red connector is used very rarely. You need to replace the brown and grey wires marked on the photo with the emulator's wires.

If the emulator you purchased does not have the connector for the seat belt buckle (there are two wires without a connector) then you need to take out the wires from the original connector and replace them with the emulator's wires. First you need to disconnect the connector marked as 2. Then you need to take out the yellow connector from the back side (Photo 2).
