The emulator is a diagnostic device designed to verify the correctness of the car's electrical installation and to determine whether the SRS/Airbag warning in your car is triggered by a defective seat mat sensor. The emulator sends a signal of occupied seat which simulates a situation where a person is sitting in the passenger seat. To make the emulator work, you need a diagnostic scanner (such as Autel, Bosch, iCarsoft, etc.) to remove the old fault code of a defective seat mat that is stored in the ECU. Once you connect the emulator, your diagnostic scanner will be able to remove old errors and turn off the SRS/Airbag warning. The emulator is intended for diagnostic use only. The emulator is not a factory device. It should not be used as a substitute for an original sensor. After performing the diagnosis, you should disconnect the emulator and reconnect the original sensor.
The seat occupancy mat is a sensor installed in the front passenger seat. The other names of the seat mat sensor are: "Automatic Child Seat Recognition", "AKSE", "Component B48", "Front Passenger Seat Occupied and Child Seat Recognition", "SA Code U18", "9025". The SRS (Supplemental Restraint System) is a system that includes airbags and multiple sensors distributed in the seats and throughout the car which can turn on the SRS/Airbag warning. The seat mat sensor is one of many sensors that can turn on the SRS/Airbag warning when it is defective.
This offer includes:
- Seat mat emulator and seat belt buckle emulator built into a small box (dimensions: 3 x 2 x 1.5 cm);
- Detailed installation manual (included with the emulator);
- Our technical support until the problem is resolved;
- 24-month warranty.
FOR FOLLOWING CARS:
Mercedes-Benz cars with a seat mat connector with 6 pin holes and 3 wires in colors: red, white, brown. Please check your seat mat connector and compare it with the photos or contact us before purchase if you are not sure how to find the correct connector. This emulator will not work with seat mats with 2 or 4 wires.
- Mercedes-Benz S-Class W220 (1998-2005)
- Mercedes-Benz SL R230 (2001-2011)
- Mercedes-Benz CL/S-Class Coupe C215 (1999-2006) - the emulator will turn off the seat belt extender in that model
Important information
• Before making a purchase, scan your car using an OBD diagnostic scanner (such as Autel, Delphi, iCarsoft, etc.) to confirm that the SRS/Airbag warning in your car is caused by defective seat mat. The SRS/airbag warning can be activated by at least 5 sensors within the passenger seat and numerous other sensors throughout the vehicle. If the SRS/Airbag warning light is caused by a faulty seat mat, your diagnostic scanner will be able to turn it off after the emulator's installation. The SRS/Airbag warning light will persist if the problem in your car is caused by a different sensor. After performing the diagnosis, you should disconnect the emulator and reconnect the original sensor.
• The emulator is safe for your car's electrical system and does not require cutting and soldering wires. After connecting it, you can disconnect it from your car at any time and safely reconnect the original sensor, restoring the electrical system to its original state. Do NOT cut the wires! The emulator will not work with cut wires.
• The emulator will not work if your OBD diagnostic scanner shows problems with the SRS/Airbag Control Unit (Module N2/7). The seat mat sensor is connected to the Control Unit so when the Control Unit does not work, then the seat mat does not work as well. In most situations the original seat mat is not defective. You just need to fix a problem with the Control Unit to restore functionality of the seat mat sensor. Please contact us before purchasing for additional assistance.
• The emulator might not work if the diagnostic scanner shows a fault code that states "seat occupancy mat - an internal component fault" or "seat occupancy mat - wrong coding". These fault codes usually indicate problems with the SRS/Airbag Control Unit, not the seat mat sensor. Please contact us before purchasing to verify this problem.
• Never disconnect the battery to clear the warnings, fault codes or to connect the emulator. The SRS/Airbag Control Unit usually loses its settings after disconnecting the battery, and it will require restoring the settings to the original state (which is not easy). If the SRS/Airbag warning in your car has appeared after a problem with a discharged battery or a weak battery, we recommend that you contact us before placing an order. We will guide you how to solve this problem.
LEGAL NOTICE / REMINDER
The emulator is intended for diagnostic use only. It is a diagnostic device designed to verify the correctness of the car's electrical installation and to determine whether the SRS/Airbag warning in your car is triggered by a defective seat mat sensor. The emulator is not a factory device or a substitute for the original sensor. After performing the diagnosis, you should disconnect the emulator and reconnect the original sensor. In the event of an accident, the passenger airbag will ALWAYS deploy (with or without a passenger in the seat) if the emulator is connected. Do not place a child seat on the front passenger seat! We strongly advise informing all users of the vehicle about the presence of the emulator. Ensure that fitting this emulator for diagnostic purposes does not violate any laws in your country. By making a purchase, you agree that we are not liable for any damages or losses that may arise from the use of the emulator, and we are not responsible for any issues with your airbag system. We are not responsible for direct or indirect damage or injury caused by improper use of the device.
