The seat occupancy mat is a sensor mounted in the front passenger seat. The other names of the seat mat sensor are: "Automatic Child Seat Recognition", "AKSE", "Component B48", "Front Passenger Seat Occupied and Child Seat Recognition", "SA Code U18", "9025".
The emulator simulates a situation of a person sitting in the passenger seat with a seat belt fastened. To make the emulator work you need a diagnostic device (like Autel, Bosch, iCarsoft etc.) to remove old errors of a broken seat mat that are stored in the airbag control unit. Once you connect the emulator your diagnostic device will be able to remove old errors and turn off the SRS/airbag warning. Unfortunately, the errors related to the safety systems are not removing automatically.
Before purchase, please scan your car with an OBD diagnostic device to make sure that the SRS/airbag warning is caused by a defective seat mat. These warnings can be turned on by at least 6 sensors mounted in the passenger seat. The emulator solves the problem caused by a defective seat mat only. It will not remove the warning if description of the fault code indicates "Internal Component Fault" or "Wrong Coding" or if a different sensor is defective - in such situation the SRS/airbag warning light will still be turned on after connecting the emulator and clearing the old fault code shown in the diagnostic tool.

Mercedes-Benz cars with a 4-pin seat mat connector and 3 wires in colors: red, white, brown which are inserted in the same position as we presented on third and fourth photo. The emulator will not work if the wires are in different colors or different position (different order) because the power wire will be in different place! The emulator will not work with cars sold in the USA and Canada!
